In communities across America we see rising racial tension, police brutality, injustices and inequality, segregation, controversies like “black lives matter” vs “all lives matter”, and the most recent response “blue lives matter ”. Phrases like “white privilege” are offensive and African-Americans are continually stereotyped as uneducated and dangerous.
Instead of arguing, our response at CryOut! is The RECONCILE benefit concert: A space where we can use speeches, poetry, rap music, songs, essays, videos, articles, dance, panel discussions etc. to dialogue. At these events, our aim is to reintroduce love, respect, forgiveness and our hope is Reconciliation, first to God, then to our neighbors.
